About Greenscape

     Greenscape was started by John and Becky Davis in 2006. After 15 years of experience taking care of lawns and recent environmental studies at California State University, Chico, the unnecessary waste and pollution created by the way lawns are commonly cared for was obvious.  This led to the desire for an alternative approach to landscaping. Using electric equipment lowers the release of pollutants such as nitrous oxide, ozone, and the greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide, into the atmosphere.  The electricity generated by Pacific Gas and Electric Company is among the cleanest in the country with 58 percent coming from sources that emit no CO2.*  Why not replace a dirty polluter, the gas powered lawnmower, with an emission-free electric mower?  Greenscape is a small and simple idea but sometimes when simple changes are made by many people, great things can happen.
